Belgrove was the first Rye Distillery in Australia. Located North of Hobart Belgrove Distillery has the only biodiesel powered still in the world.

Belgrove Black Rye Coffee Liqueur

Grappa and White Rye distilled at Belgrove forms the base for this delicious coffee liqueur.

The Black Rye has a silky viscosity that coats your mouth as you sip. It has strong chocolate and nutty notes stemming from the grappa with a slight bitterness added by the coffee. The Belgrove Black’s sweetness is tempered by the rye coming through in the middle and late palate.

Designed with Espresso Martinis in mind but also great over ice cream or a dash in a coffee.

Belgrove Distillery grow their own ryecorn to produce a 100% rye whisky.

Belgrove Distillery built their copper pot still from scratch. It is direct fired with biofuel which is used cooking oil, from a roadhouse next to Belgrove Distillery farm.

Hot water is also biofuel heated. Belgrove Distillery tractors, forklift and truck also run on Biodiesel made from the used cooking oil.

The only significant material Belgrove Distillery bring to the farm is waste cooking oil and the main product to leave is whisky.

The spent mash is fed to the Belgrove sheep. Cooling water comes from Belgrove dam and the waste water is either recycled or used for irrigation, including the next rye crop.

Brewing and diluting water is harvested from Belgrove roofs – Belgrove Distillery has a lot of farm sheds.Yeast is often reused.
